    Gilles,
You could also drag all your .mp4 files from the EX1 sd card and drop them on the Vegas timeline in the proper order, then select all shots and group them pressing G on your keyboard. You will still have the splits in the shots but they should play seamlessly and hold out as one shot.

Mike’s method is good in the sense that you will have one seamless shot, no visible splits.

Mind you that there is also Device explorer in Vegas which I never use but could probably handle your .mp4 files.

Downloaded both demos (32/64) but I am not receiving any Trial Install Code for installation?

I should also add that RED 5 does not always crash but it will not allow you to apply or cancel your compositing.

So basically you are composting in RED and then suddently CTRL Z doesn’t work anymore on the keyboard (but works under EDIT) and you then notice that Vegas did autosave to 33% and therefore you need to kill Vegas along with RED 5 since it will never complete it’s save.

Any chance we would get the BCC8 Videoscope in Vegas?

  • Should work, very strange?
I never add any issues with the search feature.

You might want to gather all your footage and .veg file into a single folder and double-click your .veg from within the folder and work it up from there.

  • Thanks Boris, didn’t think all these plugins would be ported to Vegas, this is great news.

    Looking forward to the webinar.

  • Having the Lens Flare filter to show up with aplha channel in Vegas is one thing I am looking forward to in BCC8.

Also having Extruded EPS properly showing up in Vegas 11 would be great.

And from what I can see in the BCC8 AE, having Lens Flare 3D, Particle Emitter 3D, Stage Lights, Organic Strands, Film Glow, Wild Cards……would all be nice to have.

  • Thanks for your help Dirk, that was precisely what I wanted to know. It worked out very well and the RED 5/Vegas 11 combo has proven to be rock solid, quite amazed.
And the beautifulness RED achieved with the text is just outstanding.

I do have several questions which I couldn’t find answers:

If I would use a video as a reflection map, seems that RED needs specific video formats, I cannot import EX1 or Canon DSLR footage from inside RED, so therefore I would need to convert my footage into compatible RED footage if that holds up, what are high quality RED video formats and size requirements needed?

If I apply a lens flare inside RED 5, I do get a black background, how can I make this background transparent so I can see what shows up under in the Vegas timeline? (And should that be solved once we get BCC8 for Vegas ?)

I have seen in one of your RED webinar that you can search for filters inside RED, does that work with Sony Vegas?

Again, thanks so much for your valuable help
