Is the monitor really 4K? That would be an expensive Pro monitor attached to a video output device.
I suspect you bought a UHD monitor.

At this point I would buy TB3 drives when you are ready to step up. New Macs and a few Windows machines now have TB3. You can use TB2 drives on a new Mac with an adapter. At least my LACIE Rugged Raid TB2 works on my 2018 MacBook Pro with an adapter.
I have not tried TB3 drives on a TB2 computer, but it works at least in some instances:

For my Macs I often have to cheat the selection and tell it I have a GTX 680 since that card was actually produced for the Mac. I am using the web driver on my MacBook Pro with the GT750m and on my legacy MacPro with a GTX Titan.

Assuming the Education license works like the normal perpetual license then the answer is yes. You deactivate it on one and activate it on the other.

There were versions of Resolve that did handle XAVC-I correctly. Also my testing has mostly been with XAVC-I to DNxHR flavors to send to Avid.
This is especially frustrating since linking (was referred to AMA linking) in Avid and transcoding is also broken. I have two updated pro apps that I BOUGHT and neither handle the best quality native output from my PROFESSIONAL camera properly.
If it was some janky lowend DSLR I could understand it, but as you pointed out, the XAVC-I codec is native to even higher end SONY cameras as well.
Not that it bothers me or anything.

Nope, as you noticed, still broken in 12.5b2. I have a support ticket open on it.
Workaround is to export audio separately.
It’s ridiculous as the FS7 is very popular and the internal XAVC-I is good/very good if exposed correctly.

Check the compatibility list on the Avid site. I believe it list the correct Nvidia drivers needed for a particular version. I think it is also in the release notes.

Tried different Nvidia driver? Turned off Firewall and antivirus?
