I’m now beginning to get crashes when I try to manipulate (not just Pan Behind, but any operation can trigger it now) certain layers. It doesn’t seem to matter anymore where the layer came from.

I’m using Windows 7, and CS6.
The Illustrator file is RGB.

It already does match, that’s what I was trying to say. The seam appears regardless.

Right now, the After Effects file is linked to one big Illustrator file containing all of the characters’ individual body parts. I split up all the characters into their own individual Illustrator files, but the After Effects file is still linked to the original Illustrator file. I’d like to switch the link to the individual files without having to hit Replace Footage one by one.

Thanks Eric, your project file was a great base, I just had to add a simple choker to get the look I’m going for.

I’m looking for a way to do it without animating each individual letter, as I’m going to be applying the effect to quite a few instances of text. I appreciate the help though.

Thanks to both of you for your advice! I altered what I had slightly with the Cartoon effect and played around a lot with the alpha matte, as well as adding some motion to the Cell Pattern to make it look as though the waves were drifting as they changed. I also made the layer 3D and shifted the perspective to be more slanted, which helped A LOT. Thanks again!
