Thanks Matt. I’m not worried about the quality of the preview as much as the final render quality of the entire project. Does adding a mp4 clip to the timeline alongside other captured HDV video (mostly m2t files I think??)cause degradation of the re-rendered mp4?

Thanks John for taking the time to reply – will try that out.
BTW is the link provided later in this thread for protype titler training broken? I’d be interested in exploring it.

    Cheers,

That’s been my experience too despite the official YouTube suggestions for mp4 – which is why I was curious about other people’s experience. The wmv files are 3 x larger than mp4’s which would suggest they are less lossy

    Thanks for your time

Thanks – will do. I do notice that pause/play on the remote also produces loud pops so you are probably correct…

February 14, 2008 at 5:17 am in reply to: DVDA menu button question

Thanks for the pointer! I found that if I create a mask in PS, select it, and save the selection (it is saved as an alpha channel in PS), then the psd file works fine as a mask in DVDA!

I guess I’m still puzzled as to the 2 highlight properties, one for a menu, another for a button. What would you want an entire menu highlight for?

    Thanks again

  • Thanks Don,

I assume then that the renderer is smart and renders only what isn’t mpg’d and integrates this with the pre-rendered segments in the timeline. And so there is no re-rendering or degradation of the pre-rendered clips?

    TIA,

    Bob
