Advice requested please. What would be a suggested workflow to download youtube clip, edit in vegas pro (9), then to upload into website jwplayer. What would produce least degradation in this process? Are 3rd party encoders (e.g. encoding.com, FVD suite, etc)prefered to vegas mp4 rendering? If so how to get ‘raw’ edited vegas file into such a third party encoder? If this seems garbled it’s prob because I don’t fully understand the process – apologies in advance! Thx for any help/clarifications.

The highly compressed YouTube video will not edit easily. I would convert the YouTube videos to Motion-JPEG with PCM audio before working with them in Vegas. You can use a tool like AviDemux to do this. M-JPEG will edit easily and maintain quality. Then render using Sony AVC or MainConcept AVC to MP4 for delivery.
