Wow, thanks for the quick reply.
I did buy from macvidcards. So, on 10.7.5 I can remove the GT 120 and swap out one GTX 570. I assume it will go in the same slot? Then still have the Cubix with the other GTX570?

    Rohit,
I am troubleshooting some playback issues in regards to r3d files. I am getting unstable playback in Resolve. Sometimes, I get 24fps playback and then after 5 or 6 shots, drops to 7, 4 or even .5 fps! Very stuttery.

If I remove the GT120 and replace it with one of my GTX570s would that help? Do I have to be on 10.8 to do that? Or is it possible on Lion?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Alexis,
Thanks for the thorough explanation. It helped me understand ACES a lot more.

This is why I check out the Cow forums daily!!!

I still think it would be nice to have access to those Red settings. Maybe that could be in the next software upgrade?

How are you liking or rather, dealing with the fact that you can’t access the RED metadata when working in ACES?

I have only played around with a few RED shots and it’s a different beast! Wish you could adjust the ISO, exposure, etc.

  • I do agree that it is a bug that should be fixed by BMD. I also check my cut and paste method and it worked for me. (Mileage may vary)

I was dealing with one type of ftg. (RED) Perhaps mixed media results in frame rate issues. I have had footage from an Avid project that was 23.976 originally get rendered by Resolve as 24 fps on the roundtrip.

I know the cut and paste method isn’t a good fix, but it seems to work for me – until the bug gets fixed, that is.

  • I thought it worked for me. Since the footage was 23.98. I would have to open up the project I did it on.

  • I have noticed this also. A workaround is to import the XML from Resolve into FCP – it comes in 24 fps. Create a new sequence at 23.98, then cut and paste all of the shots from the 24 fps sequence into the 23.98 sequence. Seems to work, especially if you rendered at 23.976 in Resolve.
