    Hi Frances
Good to know, since I believe VP16 has made a jump in quality. However, I would- in your case- write them a mail or letter, complaining about this unprofessional attitude.
Its not “my business”, however they should have also feedback.
    best regards
    Rob

    Hello Frances
Even though it will be too late to react, viz. annulation the purchase of your software purchase, but for everybody’s information:
Magix is an enterprise located in Germany europen Community. They are obliged to refund your money provide you send them by mail or letter or fax
Unfortunately you can only do this within two weeks after purchase.
Hereby, I revoke the treaty concluded by me on the purchase of the following goods: here you should inform about date, amount of money and that they used the wrong currency viz. US dollar instead of Cnd$

And if this doesn’t work or its too late
Write them a mail/better is a letter to following address
There I would mention that you have informed COW’s about your experience and this is poor publicity.
For your info: Magix Software GMBH very
    Customcare
    Borsigstr. 24 D 32312 Lübbecke
    Germany /Europe

Hope this can be of some help for you and/or other customers.
But don’t make the mistake to transfer this impressionto the Vegas Pro software I use it already sinc 2011 (SVP 9 over SVP12 later VP 14 and now I start “struggling” with VP16. However upto now its a good Upgrade!!!

Hope you have not lost your trust in..

  • Hi Blake
I am in the same position as you are, using SVP 12, and didn’t upgrade to 13, no real progress for me, because I am an amateur (but a serious one!!). I was waiting for SVP 14. (sic!)
To give a straight forward answer: Magix is a serious Software Company, located in Germany, with branches in other countries and well known in Europe.
I have two products, Audio Cleaning and Musicmaker, [one can create his own (film) music compositions], which I use over many years. Both deal with music. I am fully satisfied with those products.
Magix is getting strong in the video software branche with MAGIX Video Pro and on the same quality level as Vegas Pro 13. Price level is also similar.(around Euro 400). It competes also with Adobe Premiere and Grass Valley Edius (both high quality products) as well as Apples Final Cut Pro X
My first reaction learning about the transition Sony to Magix was and still is, positive! I do trust Magix 100%.
I did not receive an offer for Vegas Pro 13, and obtaining the Magix Vegas 14 (free).
And my strong wish is, COW will remain the peer-to peer link. Since, for me SVP got a “face”, due to the intense and high level support.
And, with all decisions in life: decide for the “right” one. 😉
