As my experience, it has transcoding feature in Media management or , DaVinci Resolve,
in case of DaVinci Resolve, it just transcoding with Non-drop Frame, it was different the way of edius and Davinci Resolve
so you better check the quality between Davinci and Edius.
I think Edius is better than Davinci, not sure

Is this Correct in Yosemite, 10.10.5, with MacPro 5,1?
Not sure can add one more GPU….

I Installed Yosemite Public Beta 10.10 (14A299l).
even I Installed Nvidia CUDA Driver 6.0.51.
DaVinci Resolve did not find out CUDA driver.
Migration existing Database working well.

When I try to existing Project, DaVinci Resolve just crashed.
Beta is just Beta, Yea.

In Mac OS X Mavericks, same symptom.
