How save do you think it is to dive into this one on a new MacPro in regards of Resolve and Blackmagic hardware ?

July 24, 2014 at 2:09 amRunning a beta OS with beta Resolve 11 on a production machine….and you’re wondering if it’s safe….?
I’m assuming you’re working on your standup comedy routine here….

July 24, 2014 at 7:57 amI am working on my duty as beta tester which not only includes testing Resolve in a production environment but also testing out flaws and benefits of a new operating system 🙂
I am sure that the Blackmagic folk or other already run Yosemite betas, but today everyone can get their hands on.
When Mavericks came out it was dreadful and I did the full turn back to Moutain Lion, but the 10.9.4 runs smooth as silk…
So yes, I am willing to sacrifice productivity for some tinkering…A slice of color…

July 24, 2014 at 2:28 pmWell, as long as you’re in the middle of a big important project, I think it’s a fine idea.

I can also guarantee that Smoke won’t be certified for Yoesmite until months after it’s official release. Autodesk typically waits for 1 dot release (sometimes 2) before certifying it’s software as stable on an OS.
But if you’re willing to deal with the inevitable downtime, reinstall, plugin failures, and program failures then who are we to argue….?

July 24, 2014 at 8:37 pmMy suggestion for the fastest turn around would be to load yosemite on a single hard drive BEFORE you incorporate that drive in a RAID.

I also think Sascha should try it while standing on his head, underneath a ladder, near a leaky nuclear reactor. That’d be interesting.Anybody remember that old saying of, “you know how you can spot the Pioneers? Those are the guys with all the arrows in their backs…”
