Excellent points, Bill. And having your single light strapped to your rolling rig is a terrific way to make sure the light isn’t kicked over. Plus, running off of batteries removes the trip-over-the-stinger factor.
You don’t mention dominant color balance (as opposed to light intensity.) I would think having a variable color-temp light would be most useful, though not absolutely necessary.

Interesting information, amazing price. However, on the US Amazon site, a significant number of people complained that auto focus hunts for focus throughout the shot and there’s supposedly no way to turn it off and go manual. How is the camera working for you?

As always, nice work, Todd! Yes, shooting the end of the shot first and later reversing in post is something I’ve done a lot of times, especially with table-top where the shots needs to end perfectly framed on a logo/box/item. Saves a lot of stress and time. Highly recommended!

In my view, needs a lot of trimming. Some shots work well. Some shots are awkward with jerky moves/zooms, bad pans. Way too long and repetitive. Runs over 3:30. Much stronger at :30 or :60.

For a great many years I used Microsoft FrontPage. But that software has long been discontinued. When it was time to completely redesign my web site, I tried a bunch of solutions and settled on Serif WebPlus X6. (There is now a version 7.) HTML 5 proved a bit of a challenge but solved with Easy HTML5 Video. Note that there is an official users’ web site for Serif WebPlus, and another, more friendly one you can find with GoogleSearch. Of course, the fully professional software is Adobe Dreamweaver, with a very steep learning curve. If you can code comfortably, Dreamweaver would probably be the best choice. For those of us who turn into frozen salt statues at even the thought of coding, WebPlus or one of many others like it will work better for you.

Update 7/14: I’ve found Topaz Simplify does a pretty good job. Add a white layer below the treated one and erase any remaining visual noise.

Bill, very interesting comments and examples of the GH4. But on your “Hybrid Camera Revolution” link you start off with the Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera currently on sale for $495. A better “budget” fit? (by the way, the Amazon link takes the reader to a non-sale page.)On the other hand, at B&H the “most liked” negative review lays out the true costs and problems with this camera. So it may well be that the GH4 is an overall better buy.

Without seeing the shots this is hard to parse. Bottom line: is the viewer confused, or is the viewer quite clear about where things and people are? Very often, crossing the line works just fine, either because of a CU or a long shot. “There are no absolute rules.”
