One more question: you write, “The bitrate used will depend on the length of your video. If it’s less than 70 min. I use a custom CBR of 8,000,000.” Where and how do I set the CBR to 8,000,000? My video is 24 minutes long, but near the end of burning, DVD Architect stopped because something (I don’t remember what and didn’t write it down) is too large.

Most faces are not fully symmetrical. In traditional Hollywood filmmaking, actors, especially female actors, always had or believed they had a “better side.” In your situation, there are no formulas — there never are. You will want to look at the face and decide which side you want to key from, as well as the look. Hard light or soft? How much fill? How much back light? How bright the background as well as its colors and what objects/walls/lamps appear back there, etc. The fun part is, figuring all this out (often in a very short period of time) is a constant challenge and learning experience.

Or, add minus-green (magenta) to your LEDs. And in general, auto white-balance produces unsatisfactory results, including color shifts during shots. Highly recommended: manual white balance. If you are working with a Canon DSLR, get the free Magic Lantern firmware that makes manual white-balance so easy. (Use a gray card or pure white paper as the target, or get one of those white-balance lens caps that cost almost nothing on eBay.)

Thanks, Steve. Interesting that Looks is one of the few Magic Bullet plug-ins that works with Vegas. Example: Colorista is not. Looks cannot do the same thing as Tiffen VFX v3, but probably come close enough.

As far as I can tell, B&H “discontinues” products they either find cause too many returns or are no longer available at a price B&H considers reasonable. Also, frequently B&H discontinues because a newer model is now available.
Check Amazon. Also do a GoogleSearch.

It’s hard to tell from B&H or the Bescor web site if you need a battery. It sounds like you should be able to plug the ac adapter into the wall and the other end into the light.
