I’m only trying to feed a 24″ 1920×1200 monitor. Same one as when using the gtx 280. It’s a simple non powered adapter

Hmph, I dont know if those issues would be worth it considering there is a mac version of the 680? I’m curious how different the cards perform in a single card config?

The advantage of this is that as long as your disks and your network are properly configured, you can get much faster than realtime renders, I can render HD ProRes files from 2k files on the Linux box at more than twice realtime speed.
Wait, your rendering 2k Prores on Linux? The problem with not having ProRes this is many clients want to do additional finishing work to the projects after color in FCP. If I hand them a DPX sequence they will say, WTF.
So for example a Canon 5D spot,
-Import XML and ProRes media into Mac Resolve
-Render DPX and Export XML From Mac Resolve
-Import DPXs from Mac Resolve into Linux Resolve, open XML in Linux
-Grade on Linux system in DPX.
-Export project from Linux Resolve
-Import project into Mac Resolve
-Render ProRes version, export XML, import into FCP.If the .drp projects cross from Mac to Linux solidly, I guess this isn’t much of an issue.
R3D workflow..
-Work in Linux using R3Ds.
-Render DPX with FCP round trip XML.
-Import DPXs and XML into Mac Resolve
-Render DPX to ProRes.
-Open in FCP.I realize you’d be rendering R3Ds faster in Linux Resolve, but after having to then render DPX to Prores on Mac after that, is there really a speed benefit in the end?

It looks like it has lifted blacks that are clipped, then some color pushed into the shadows.
I was playing with this the other day.. how can I clip the blacks? I was trying to just lift the blacks using the curves/lift control and it was just lifting it and giving me more shadow detail, not giving it that lifted & clipped look.

Yeah, thats what I’ve been doing.
for example: If I adjust the color for A243_C009_112343 at one point and it appears again in the cut a few seconds later, it will reflect the R3D adjustment I made to it at the previous timecode, however, I need different r3d settings throughout the project for A243_C009_112343.
Do I need to duplicate the R3D and import it?

Thought I’d change the topic to see if anyone has any insight.

There were some rumors that the panel would lower in price, or there would be a new mid range model. Anyone see anything like this at NAB?
-
It’s all prores. What does QTchange do?
Isn’t it possible to make resolve look at the source clip length and use that as a references for the in and out the way Fcp currently sees it?

Anyone know about the 680?
