Wow, I’ve been searching and searching or an answer to this as well.
Let me know if you or if anyone can give some advice on this. I’ve spent hours on a model in octane and now can’t believe that this may not be feasible.

    That does sound strange.
I’ve found myself accidentally saving versions of a project in different places without even knowing it.
I agree that the spotlight or finder search to locate the most recent project would be my first option.
It you find it really is not there and has been deleted somehow then please post back as that would not be very good at all.

    Hi there,

    I have this same issue.
Anyone have any luck figuring out what was causing this?
The only difference I see in my corruption is that instead of green garbage, mine is red….why?

    Any solutions on fix yet?

  • I’ve been using my power mac with 6.03 for a few years now using footage from sony ex3 without fail.
I actually liked it better than my current system, fully upgraded and which now shows several issues that were not there before with xdcam ex footage.

    You will be happy.

    Hello everyone.

This is my first post 🙂

I’ve been searching and searching for someone with a similar issue as me and maybe I’ve found that my issue may be unique but similar in some ways. I don’t really see any issue with editing my sony ex3 footage (converted using xdcam transfer to quicktime xdcam ex codec) in final cut 7.0.3

However here is my BIG problem. When I export from final cut using the ‘export quicktime’ option and use current settings as the export option which in my case is the ‘xdcam ex 1080p24 codec’.
When I open this newly created movie in quicktime 7 or 10 it looks fine.
If I examine it in mpeg streamclip it shows as an xdcam ex clip with all the settings correct.
BUT–when I import that clip into after effects it is corrupt and can’t be used. It’s all red and blocky. I’ve seen some other posts showing bad footage coming into AE but those were green and not red with the same blocks. The clips also shows up as a mpeg clip in the ‘info’ area which is weird. If I then brought in the original clip which was brought into final cut it would be fine. Again, if I import the xdcam ex clip into AE it is great. No corruption. So, this leads me to believe that final cut is corrupting the clip and that the sony xdcam ex codec within final cut is not working correctly.

    Anyone see this issue?

    thanks,
    Rick
