If you have the budget, Photozoom is a Photoshop application that claims to do a good job resizing. I’ve never tried it.

Yeah, blur and hope for the best.
You might see if using Nearest Neighbor in photoshop helps. Supposedly it improves scaling, I don’t find it that great. You get the nearest neighbor effect in After Effects by scaling up in low res. I’d take Joseph’s advice and talk to your client.

Photoshop CS has title safe guides. You can get them when you open a new file. Scroll the presets menu.

We reached a point where the playing field was evening out. DV rivaled betacam, and talent was the factor to success, not big money. The dream of the little guy with talent is being killed off. Companies like Discovery HD theater won’t air more than 15% of any show in HDV. Now, Networks won’t accept anything that isn’t shot on the Sony 900 or 950 or the Panasonic Varicam.
The only way to combat this is to have channels devoted to more interesting content as opposed to the toniest quality.
If the talent pool is better on the dv stations, that is what the viewer will be watching.

Off the top of my head, Savannah Arts College. Parsons School of Design NY, Otis in LA, Pasadena Arts College (that isn’t the exact name), Cal Arts, School of Visual Arts in NY.
For learning after effects, Total Training CDs and any books by Trish and Chris Meyer.

Sorry, but I’ll pass on the Dell. PCs still have too many issues.
    But thanks for the info.
