I’m tearing my hair out on this, and am open to suggestions.
I’m being paid well to animate a layout that looks cheap from colors to fonts.
These are out of my control. The producer has a good head on his shoulders, and
has a lot of advanced motion ideas that are good but time consuming. I’m trying to
figure out whether to start with a decent design concept before the
title settles to bad taste, or with the motion. That’s thinking out loud.
It’s an opportunity to do good creative work but with a lot of external constraints.
    Comments always welcome.

My advice would be reduce the file to the most basic elements then try to work out a good design as a starting point. Sometimes you can get good ideas starting with motion or filtersl, but most of the time you lose site of the design, at least in my experience. It never hurts to look at other work for inspiration.

I always see exterior constraints as a challenge and an opportunity to grow as a designer. Anyone can make whatever they want and make it look good…it takes some skill to take something they dont like and make it look good.

I suggest the less is more approach. Find something you do like with the crap and run with it.

    good luck,

Thanks for the help. I love working with this producer, and always learn a lot.
