    Bob,

Thanks so much for the reply. I can’t beleive it’s that simple. I spent so much time in the F1 (help) looking for directions.

I just love Vegas Pro 8b. I use to use Avid & spent a lot on learning it because I don’t work with this stuff & have no friends that do. After learning some on Vegas I feel like I through my money away on Avid. It’s a whole lot of hype & expensive. I can burn a dual layer Blu-ray right from my timeline with a couple of clicks & it works great. Better late than never. Thanks again.

    Edward,
Thank you for the advice. I used the ac-3 & it worked fine. I have to learn more about the wav64 & why it didn’t work.

You’re right Earle. I loaded VP8 up this am & also downloaded the upgrade for that & DVD Architecture. I’ve learned how to use the clip browser that came with the EX1 & am looking forward to burning a Blu-ray with VP8 & seeing how nice the HQ mode at 35mbs comes out.

    Mike,
Thank you very much for the response. This will make life much easier for me. I should have my VP8 up & running in a day or two & am looking forward to it.
Now all I have to do is find if my Boris Red 4.x will work with VP8.

    Douglass,
Hello, When you said it worked in Vegas does that also include the HQ mode of the PMW EX1? I have XPro 5.8 & I’m told that won’t work with the 35 Mbs. I think I’ll try the Sony Vegas Pro 8.

Does this sound like a good idea to you? Also in the Vegas literature it mentions burning a DVD from the timeline. Do you know if this is for Blu-ray also?

Thank you for any help. I’m kind of a newbie.

October 28, 2006 at 8:31 am in reply to: Interested in Red 4 tutorials on the Cow?

Hi John, I am very new to video & editing & have Avid Xpress Pro 5.6.2 & the Studio ToolKit 5.6.2 which has Boris 4 included in it. I have “plowed” through some Boris tutorials & have a basic question. When someones name goes on the screen usually at the bottom, there is usually a somewhat transparent color area about the size of the person’s name. Would you please point me in the direction on what to look-up in the Boris help manual or whatever so I can practice making this item.

I’ve learned how to do some more advanced stuff in the Boris tutorials from following step by step but I assume this is considered too basic to warrant a “how to” in the Boris Red literature. But I know very little & am working at it everyday. Thank you very much in advance & have a great weekend.

    Sincerely,

    Richard Braden
