Thanks, I’ll read the article. Right now, I just need to keep working on edit as motion chugs in background. Any ideas on why so slow, System is smoking fast, but motion seems to render very slow, 3+ hours for a 2m15s credit roll is system estimate…it is in HD.

I totally get how to do it…but I still cannot find this elusive XDCAM Exporter anywhere. My googles all come up with flip4mac purchase stuff, and Sony site does not seem to have it available, or at least easily findable.
    Anybody have any suggestions?
Or info on my other questions about DVCPRO HD…when I tried to set the resolution and aspect manually it still output a file at 1280×1080…odd, since compressor says 1920.
Any help with the other questions or info on where exactly to find the XDCAM exporter is greatly appreciated.
Note…I can export XDCAM in FCP or Compressor, as a .mov, will this be a wrapped .mxf and I just can’t see that fact?
    Many thanks,
    Rich

I found this thread because I face a similar situation. Where exactly do you find “Sony’s XD CAM export software which is free on their site”?
I have searched and I am unsure which product it is.
Also, is DVCPRO HD codec same as DVCPRO HD 100? Client will accept QT wrapped DVCPRO HD 100, but when I choose DVCPRO HD in compressor I get a resolution of 1280×1080 with an pixel aspect of .667, lower than HDV standard. Can I just set it to 1920×1080 with square for the result I need? I just need to get them a sharp product, and they specify all files must be 1920×1080.
Also, and this is a bit confusing…They will accept:
“MPEG2 >35mbits 1080 60i (59.94i)”…export in compressor is listed as Mbps…which is proper abbreviation for Megabits per sec…small “m” means literally milli-bits, can I assume, as usual, that most people are just uninformed and they want Mbps?
    Thanks for any help.
    Rich
