I found the double arrow on the project pane but not on the media browser.

FWIW, I would like to sort the media browser display while in icon view.

New info from Adobe: Apparently this is a known problem. Over on the Adobe site forum they were asking for doc from anyone experiencing this issue.

In my case I had 23.97 clips in a 29.97 sequence. This is SUPPOSED to be OK but Adobe managed to break it. Make sure the frame rates of ALL the clips in your sequence match that of your sequence – at least until Adobe figures out how they broke this and generate a fix.

Once I did this my “infinite renders” stopped.

There may be other causes of this issue; check out the Adobe forum.

Please note the original post said I had the latest firmware and that my problem was offloading from the camera directly to an external hard drive; no computer is involved. The older style P2 cards are offloadable to the directly-connected HD via USB HOST mode from the camera but I cannot offload from the SDP2/Adapter card.

Dave,

Try some standard troubleshooting:

1: Try a different mic using the same cable and position
2: Try a different cable (even if it’s too long) with the Sennheiser at the same position
3: Try a longer cable with the Sennheiser held away from the camera

Hopefully one of these will point you in the right direction.

Check the cable connecting the mic and camera. If one of the signal lines is broken the cable may be picking up motor/other noise and the system is unable to reject it. Lines inside XLR connectors have a nasty habit of detaching themselves.

Nice idea but the camera does move a bit. I’ll check out your idea on the footage.

I still want to know why AE seems to “forget” some of the clone actions during render.

I’m sure that would help but I don’t know if I could convince “upper management”. I assume you’re talking about some type of thick studio-style curtain?

A little more info: this orchestra is brass-heavy and I wouldn’t mind a little uneven coverage for them!
