    There are a lot of different variable with this. It will largely depend on your computer specs. if you have a good processor and plenty of ram it should be relatively quick. Also the source will affect the speed. i recently did several DVDs from an SD source and encoding the video took about 45 minute – 1 hour per 2 hours of footage. If I were you, I would just run some benchmark tests on the system you’ll be using with footage that is similar to your source to get some ball park estimates. Good Luck!

  • I know this is late and hopefully you’ve solved the issue by now but Yeah have you downloaded the avid codec pack from their website? It sounds like that’s the problem.
