Just saw this comment about the PMW-350 viewfinder clearance problem. The blog you mention is no longer available. Any chance you can email a pic?

I hear you saying that 1/120th second would be better than 1/100th for shots that involve artificial lighting. The test footage I shot was set to 720/30p at 60 fps at 1/120th shutter speed and it looked good on playback. My editor will do a test key Monday to see if this helps in getting cleaner edges on moving arms, etc. Thanks for your input. I’ll post those results.

I’d love to fly to London. ($733 round trip) Been there twice on business and had a really good time. I even rented and drove a car in London. No easy task for a Yank. But the good news is I learned today that my contact in New York (Abel Cine Tech) convinced Sony to send a camera over this coming Tuesday. It means a 6 hour drive one way, but It’s worth it to get to the bottom of the this camera. If it looks good, I buy one. Thanks for your comments.

If someone in London wanted to demo the Sony PMW 500 today, is there a dealer that could make that happen? Too bad I don’t have any business in London, because I just checked, round trip to Heathrow is $733. When you consider the cost of renting an HD camera, one could make an argument that it would be worth it.

    Ron,

Sounds good. Maybe I should explore the non zoom through version to get that price down. Are you satisfied with the quality? Last time I used one of these adapters was with a BVP5 head and Beta SP. Didn’t know if these lenses could make the HD jump. Thanks.

I’ll be purchasing an AF100 at the end of the week. I considered buying a Nano Flash, but decided to wait, as the native footage seems to be good enough for my corporate work. My biggest dilemma is deciding which Micro 4/3 lens to buy. I don’t like the PL mount lenses because they’re not designed for the smaller 4/3 sensor. (i.e. 50mm lenses become 100mm, etc) That being said, what lens(es) do you recommend? Abel Cine Tech has the AF100 packaged with two Olympus zooms (14-35mm and 35-100mm). That’s probably the way I’ll go, but would love to hear you thoughts.

Yes, sequence/render/full is turned on. And yes, I’m viewing on computer monitor as well as NTSC monitor. The 2 graphics I’m wiping between are TGAs with alpha channels. The BG is a motion graphic. I had this problem before. I was able to nest the graphics to the BG (a solid white) and do the transitions. The key here is Final Cut’s ability to do a key and a wipe simultaneously. Thanks.
