If you had a Save in the original action… it might be doign that…

When doing multi screen…. I use a track per screen….
if you need to repeat an item.. option drag it up to clone….

Is the drive connected to a USB1 port? try copying media to your internal drive and see what happens

You can apply effect in motion… or generate grain with noise generator and blend modes in FCP
If getting plug-ins… I prfere Magic Bullet (especially if you ahve a fast graphics card as they are GPU accelerated)

I find this sort of thing often goes better in AE if you want to paint directly on the clip… it has a true paint engine.. just change blend mode of strokes to color

Option 1: Export reference movie or self contained… send to Compressor… encode in background whiel continuing to work
Option 2: Batch Export or Export with Compressor from menu… and tie up application for entire time while file is analyzed and compressed
