The DVX does not shoot 60 i
Make sure your sequence preset is set to DV NTSC or DV NTSC Anamrophic… your footage should NOT appear red when you drop it in the timeline… it should play smoothly without rendering

Not all AVIs have a Mac equivalent codec…
If it does… just batch process…
And the arguement could easily be made since AVI is a discontinued and dead format that Windows should get in on QuickTime…. After all I can open up QuickTime movies from the early 90’s with now issue….

THis is why the PSB format is in the menu…. but you are FAR better doing something that large with a pagelayout program

Sorry to be so emphatic but that is NOT how the PAR menu works… it is NOT a convert… rather an interpret…
Changing it there does not reshape your pixels .. it only changes how they are viewed. You must MANUALLY distort first… (ie 720 X 540 resize to 720 x 486 and then reinterepret those as D1). That menu simply changes how the image appears on your computer monitor and has NOTHING to do with how it displays in a video environment,
Plus… unless your text is all vector…. you can’t up rez
And if it IS vector… then simply import into AE and use Layer > Convert Photoshop Text to Vector (or something close to that)

You can also batch by recording an action for File>Automate> Fit Image and enterring the maximum width and heigh as 2,000 pixels

Printer drivers are your printer issue… same with scanners….
You need to follow up with those manufacturers and get CS3 qualified drivers

but i’d recommend getting 30 day demo.. then eventually picking up Production premium bundle
