The Mackie is fantastic- unfortunately the used one I bought had a bad fader so it’s back at mackie for repair- but I did get to use it.

Actually I tried the Behringer bcf2000 $200 fader and it worked well, until you had to change the fades, then it was a problem.

Too bad as a $200 mixer surface is alot more appealing to FCP users than a $1000 one.

The jog control of the mackie was incredible as well – much better than a shuttle pro- it just works so much better.

The funny thing is that with the Mackie control surface for mixing in FCP5 the TC does show up on the Mackie’s display. So obviously TC is being sent out via midi.

Ok here is a suggestion maybe not for the brightest projector (only 1000 lumens) but it certainly is the best for under $3000- The toshiba MT700-

1280×720 19:9 dlp – simply amazing image especially from DVI. can be had for $2500. I use it for home theater and will start incorperating it into me editing system as well for clinets that want to see projection.

  • I’ll have a Kona 2 in a day or two and will play back some CW HD files to se how it handles it.

I’ll post my results- though I’m sure others have dealt with this.

Martin- now that FCP 5 will have multicam built in, what happens to your multicam lite and pro? I was really looking forward to them and tried the demo.

I’m in a real bind- I’m cutting a multicam show for a post house next week and I was going to get them to buy Multicam lite- but now they wont buy it because of FCP 5-

    whats going to happen?

    thanks

I called sony and since my serial # starts with 20, not 21 it is not 1080P compatible.

I have note yet done a 24P just- just 1080i and some 720P.

Joe what does your serial start with?
