Bob,
The fellow wants to transmit via internet, do you want to design and sell him hardware that will cost him a bundle and fatten you bank account? Equipment that will be obsolete in a few year and that is overkill for his needs? May you would.
I don’t think you know what you are talking about. With a software like vidblaster he can make the show work and excell and its not a toy. I don’t use vidblaster because it does not work for my kind of work but i have tried it. The hardware he can get elswhere, I am sure, better suited for his needs and realty than anything you can offer.
I might be a virus to you but you are a dinosaur, remember virus evolve and dinos become bones in museums.
I Guess you would have thrived in the 19th century.

Check Vidblaster at vidblaster.com this could handle your image needs
as far as graphics you can use photoshop with this app. You would need an audio mixerAs far as communications check eartec head wireless phones very reliable i use them on my productions, 5 headsets about 1k
Things are chaning a lot in the broadcast field. Just like when dv started all the die hard broadcast people said that it will never work.
Welcome to the 3rd milenium

July 10, 2009 at 3:53 pm in reply to: Live video, wireless transmit from location to a web site?Check avtake cutfour app it doe web and broadcast video (720×480 avi) at the sametime. (avtake.com)
You can use any free encoder on the same computer.I do live streaming sports and soon broadcast content. Very reliable. about $600.00
There is also vidblaster.com if you only need web (It does not do 720-480) and it does have a lot of good features but its almost double the cost of “cutfour”
Good Luck

I am using “Cutfour” by avtake (avtake.com) I am very pleased with it.
It can do Broadcast Quality 720×480 and swend out multigraph video for encoding with any free encoding app. In fact it can do these at the same time while recording the broadcast version to an internal or external device.
I do live web streaming for sports and the app rocks big time no problems.
There is also vidblaster wich seems to offer more but does not have broadcast quality 720×480 and recording material to onternal drive is a hassel, I might be wrong on this but i have asked the developer about these. issues but he has never responded.
Also cut four is half the price and will soon be offering hd using deckling cards
These apps are just comming out and will revolutionise production.
Some might say that NLE multicam is best, But I think that each has its value and use. But for regular content like taking heads, sports drama, software mixers are the way to go.
I will be taping a broadcast show in a few months

April 13, 2009 at 11:49 pm in reply to: Broadcast Live Editing/Switch Softwar for OS XUnfortunately they are all limited to 4 fire wire cams. They say its a hardware limitation but i don’t know if it has to do with thoughput or the lack of more than 4 fire wire ports on available mobos?
The only workaround i see to this (using the avtake) is to have 2 systems, the second feeding the the first through one of the 4 fire wire ports but this would need 2 directors and system one would have to rely on what system 2 feeds.
The only other software based mixing app that i know of is broadcast pix but its tied to its proprietary hard ware. This sytem looks great.
let us know how you work those challenges.
good luck

Thanks for the info. I checked with a solution provider and they told i could get a good image at 1.5 mbps (sd) upload. This is in the dsl range.
I will be checking with the local telephone co to see if they can configure uploads for that rate o throughput.
There’s got to be something.
Thanks
