There is this app that looks pretty good an complete for non broadcast work. Its called avtake cutfour you can go to avtake.com.

I have tried to find any user but have not found any that would answer me. The app as far as I know is relatively new first version came out last may. the newest just came out and offers color correction, pip and slomo. reading the specs makes me want it cause it offers alpha channel for titles and input of avi while taping. it looks almost like broadcastpix.

making numbers i figure i could make a system with four cameras (song hvx 10000 with a computer an all for much less than anything in the market.

but alas it all sound to good.

  • If anyone wants a gig like that you know what ya gotta do.
Seriously many people get there start in the business that way, some even with a strong academic background in tv/film. I am not promulgating it be we all know people who started like that. Some wither but others thrive.

This happened with a dv tape with an extremely important 10 min recording, fortunately at the beginning of the tape. We opened it and used a blower on normal, put i back in the recorder and save the material.

I remember back in 1999 a friend had a media 100 that had a storyboard interface so I thought that it was still part of the app.

I like storyboard interface because its a very fast way of building and manipulating and editing a timeline.

It also gives a total view of the timeline without having to scrub plus a faster way to acces any clip. there are no 2,3 point editing just an automatic slip and slide providing that the storyboard interface syncs the timeline.

I know some people consider it below profesional but after using it imop I think that its a much underrated tool, maybe because so few know about it.

    thanks

I think a sale of Apples pro apps would be good for Apple and whoever purchased it. Remember apple is now Apple and not Apple Computers like it was before.

The resourse Apple invest inFCP can be used for other products and which ever company purchased fcp would automatically have over a million customers so it would not be a bad deal. Or Apple could just license it and make money without moving a finger.

That said Fcp is an old code and imop very disorganized and badly in need of updating. So maybe there is some truth to the rumor Or maybe they are working hard to update it with new code for 64 bit os.

But again Lets see? discreet, Velocity, Speed Razor all great cutting edge NLE apps that had suits say “Closing! nay”

I hope the best for all

  • My next system will be a mac I plan to run both adobe and fcp
on the mac os and vegas or any other nle of win app on win os.
I will have an extra wintel for any othe wintel only app.

adobe cs3 has some great tools and work flow between all adobe products that are world standard in most aspects of image creation and manipulation un matched by none.

Apple has others. So I figuer if I buy a mac I have everything covered.

BTW I heard that matrox was making an axio type hardware for the mac does any one know about this?
