For the first time I feel compelled to jump ship and dive into apple sphere. I have worked with edit* Avid, Premier, cinegy.. (all great apps).

After seeing the videos of the presentation I got the drift of why so much insecurity on the new app. Inmop its all about change and fear of something new. It looks much more complicated than doing it the current way.

I personally like it and look forward to purchasing it, I would probably need to watch the tutorial about a thousand times but I am sure that I will get it and then breeze through my projects.

Black magic has a new software snd hard switcher this looks like a another solution for you. about 995.00 to 5k .

What exactly do you what to do?

I use avtake for broadcast and it works great. I use it with four z1 cameras never any problem.

For HD in cutfour you need to use either blackmagic or decklink cards and at least an I7 800 or 900 series mobo.

All in all it will come out at half of what a low end
HD switcher might cost plus you get added features only available in higher end hard swicthers.

You can download a demo for the hd mixer but you need to have at least a decklink card in your system.

You can also check tricaster they got a 3 camera hd/sd switcher system for about 14k.

Since you got a mac thecheapest would be wirecast software

This is a webcast but it can record in mpeg then you can do a dvd.
But you got to check the system req.

Also you can try vidblaster its pc but if yoou dual boot you can use it, this is better than wirecast and better resolution.

Other than this try renting a tricaster,

The first 2 options should be much cheaper but they depend on the capabilities of your system.
