Thank you for your quick reply Dennis. I will surely give it a try. Don’t know if I have an alpha channel or not. We’ll see.

Still battling with this. I went to the Dell site and found a few drivers to upload, but worse, discovered my bios is A06 and the update is now A015, but it won’t let me update to 15 down without A07 which is not available on the Dell site. (I’ll have to google bios and find out what the heck it is and if it could be part of my problem)

screen shot from the Nvidia control panel. Am I not using my card?

    I downloaded and installed 341.21-quadro-grid-desktop-notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql.exe

    Driver Version 9.18.13.4121

I believe this is the latest version. The link you sent me is for 32bit and I have 64.

Thanks for your help. I have not pulled out the last of my grey hair … yet.

    Thanks Juan,

I knew it would be flash or html. I just wasn’t sure how to do it. Still working on it.

I was hoping to replace the windows start up splash screen with a flash movie with buttons and links or even a html page with links.

January 3, 2012 at 2:55 am in reply to: AVCHD settings

I right click on the AVCHD file I’ve imported into PP CS5.5 and click on create new sequence from clip … as noted above. As Vasco daNeva stated, the sequence turns yellow and in my case there is no audio. When I play the file in Windows Media player there is no sound, but when I play it in VLC the sound is present. I want to preserve the 1080p resolution so I do not want to down convert. Do I need to extract the audio track and encode it separately?

    Or?

    Thanks for your help.

    Good morning,
I always … always had this problem with Avid when
capturing from VHS tapes. I just assumed it it inherent
with analogue. With Avid I would import the captured
avi file and make my adjustments to bring it into sync.
Then I would place a still image, usually a black color
clip in the empty space or just cut which every track
was the longest in the beginning and ending.

It always always happened with clips over and hour.

I would re-encode the timeline with the adjusted clips
and then make my mpeg2 in ProCoder3.

I can still do this, I was just hoping to eliminate one
    computer from my desk.

As for Compressor it created the standard AIFF audio file,
but I will surely pay attention next time my wife or clients
wants a VHS to DVD conversion.

Thank you for your input and time.

OK, it is still 6 seconds off.
Now I suppose I will delete the video
track in FCP and just export the audio
track and see if it is the same length.
