I re-created what I did using the same techniques in a new project and now it doesn’t happen, but thanks anyway.
Are weird rendering errors common or occasionally occurring in C4D?

Wow, thanks for the effort! I’ve been away for the holidays so sorry for a late response.
Though the project I was working on is over now and I just slogged through changing all the layer references in the expressions to get it done, any help in a script would be very useful to me and, I would imagine, others as well.
Transform properties only would certainly be useful in the future and could be a starting point for you and other great minds to create a script that could streamline this process.
Just a thought prefaced by the fact that I know nothing about writing scripts, but is it possible to direct a script to just look at a comp’s layers for any expressions regardless of whether or not it lives in a transform property or an effect?

At 90° characters in the center of the comp are exactly perpendicular to the view but others at the edges are not and you would still see them at an angle. doing a full 180° rotation with an expression on opacity would insure that the back face of the character is not visible.

I am amazed at the speed in which I get responses at on The Cow!
Unfortunately I get the warning that ” Class ‘Array’ has no property or method named ‘2’ ”
Can you elucidate as to what split, “r” and [2] means in this expression?
you wrote that this would return the third line of text. i gather that means that the first line would be [0] as in an array?

Thanks Dan, you are always a big help. That didn’t work, though. In fact, it kept the layer’s position wiggling. It seems to me that the delay needs to be added so that the layer looks at the sliders keyframes but delayed by X. I don’t even need to index the delay, I’ll just type in the number for the delay for each layer.
I was looking at “valueAtTime(time – x)” to modify my original expression but I’m not sure where to put it or if that is even right.
Thanks for helping me to (slowly) learn the expression language.
