November 27, 2014 at 3:43 pm in reply to: XA20 .MP4 files unviewable on Event ViewerThanks to both. I don’t have access to a machine not running Yosemite right now.
And yes,I forgot about that: I am using Blackmagic’s Deckling Mini Monitor connected to an external TV set for monitoring and have already found out that FCPX returns to “normal” if I turn A/VOutput off. But I want, and need A/V Output on… System reboots and re-installing drivers did not help. I already contacted my Blackmagic reseller here in Portugal and he is trying to sort i out.
Thanks again.

November 8, 2012 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Undocumented Feature: Copy selected EffectsJust can´understand why they () can’t do a simple drag and drop effect way to copy. Just drag one effect form the inspector of one clip, to the other clip on the timeline… How difficult would that be?!!!

August 20, 2012 at 4:18 pm in reply to: QuickTip: Selecting a clip without moving the playheadI’m in shock! Been struggling with this for months but only today I put myself thourg the trouble of searching on the web. I used to do the click empty space and drag over clip but it’s not always handy… Just C!!!?? Uau… One of the happiest FCPX days for me. Thanks

August 8, 2012 at 8:39 am in reply to: Compressor 4 (Not Responding) everytime I drag setting to a jobTo tell the truh, I stopped using Compressor 4. For the amount of work I was doing, it sufficed to export using Compressor settings through FCPX. So, right now I’m not sure if it somehow is fixed but I never got back to trying it again.

This was actually the first time I launched Compressor 4 and I never did anything to the preferences. Still did what you said but to no avail… didn’t fix the problem. -
What another great feature in FC Pro(?). Uau, I can do it on QT7 but not a professional editing software. Really, this is one of those things I really can’t understand. Want more ricidulous? There is. In Sequence Settings, click the Advanced button in QT Video Settings. You can choose 15gps but only to then be notified that “Frame Rate Change Ingored: Use Editing Timebase…”. Each day I find myself more wondering how Apple managed to be sucha successfull company and how everyone seems to think everything they do is just awesome. Will wait for the next Final Cut and see what comes out of it but seriously considering other options. Any one knows if this, the 15fps timelaine, can be done in Media Composer or Premiere? The way I will work around this is to create a 30fps timeline and put my original 15fps clip there. Visually it should be the same since everyframe will be doubled but playd only for half the time. Right?
Tha workaround with the XML file, thanks for the the ood intentions of sharing it.. but did I pay 3000€ for a machine plus 1000€ for software to work stone age way?
All the best.

August 27, 2010 at 8:52 am in reply to: apply same settings to several Jobs in a Compressor batchIgnore my previous post. Found a way just by selecting all jobs in the batch window and drag-drop the settin to one of them. This applies the setting to all jobs.

Hello Stuart, thanks for the answer.
I know that but most of the time, I only edit my stuff sometime later (usually months) from when it is shot. So the fastest and best way I have done till now is just save my files to the hard drive and then drag and drop them to FCP. I never use any transfer window or ingest plug ins. Not really familiar with that workflow. Maybe I should take a look at it and instead of drag and drop to FCP timeline, I could ingest and FCP wold create the “shorter” meda files on the scratch disk and I could then erase the original ones from where I saved them in the first place…
