never mind, I found the solution to my problem.

The combination metashape / substance painter doesn’t work as far as I can tell. My solution lies in using c4d in between and converting the obj with udims in c4d with arnold. export the new obj and it works in substance painter with only 1 texture set.

[Graham Bernard] “You DO need to insert a TRACK Envelope; add your adjustments points AND then Lock Envelop to Event and shuffle away”

Thanks Graham, just what I hoped for. There’s only one thing: “shuffle” doesn’t work. Mind you I get the job done now because of you; there are more ways to Rome, bust ‘shuffle’ , as in rightclick and hold and move the event on top of another event > and then choose “Shuffle events” doesn’t work with the audio keyframes.
But it works with just moving so it can be done. Thanks for your great help.

Thanks a lot Todd, very helpfull. This should keep me going for a while đŸ˜‰ I hope it’s relevant for AE as well. And I hope I find the answer to my question if color correction can be done objectively, (that is without looking and judging for yourself on a non-calibrated monitor). Thanks again.

I guess I have to learn how to work with scopes to color correct without a calibrated monitor. Does anyone know a good starting point for this?

Thanks Dave for your answer. But I think the black and white effect is a bit over the top with neutralizing since it takes away all the color đŸ™‚

I hadn’t tried that one, now I have. It looks similar as with levels, only easier, and it doesn’t change the light values as far as I can tell. I guess I have to use greycard or color card in footage. I think this is the best way isn’t it? What do you use to get your HDSLR-footage neutral and be sure it’s neutral? I think this is one good way to go. Thanks! If anyone has a different solution please let me know. Never to old to learn.

  • That’s what i’m doing now.
It is common for renderengines to be able to do this;.. after effects, 3Ds max etc all give the option of “skip existing frames”. That way more machines than one can be used to render a sequence.
This is a missed opportunity of Vegas.
    thanks for your answer.

  • Oh and for S3D stereoscopic part; turn layers into 3D layers, move effect layer into Z-space and mind the edges for window violation.

  • I don’t know if you’re still interested, but there’s an easier way to do this.
Copy the image layer and ad a Magnify effect and drop shadow to it. This copy layer is on top of the original. Than make adjustments to your liking in the Magnify settings; for magnification, size, and to Drop Shadow on position, scale and orientation. you can animate the magnify effect by animating Center. (oh and important…set Magnify Effect blending mode to none!)
