    Never have partitioned for fcp purposes or any purpose for that matter…. never saw the need. hence why i asked if there was a purpose anymore….

    obviously tho i’m an idiot and living on another planet given your smart ass response. it wouldn’t have been a true forum thread without at least one snyde remark from someone.

    i’ve tried a variety of vcr decks–no luck. details on my system, etc were on my first post.

    sony deck dsr 1000—as i mentioned it worked last time i tried…about a year ago.

    yes i’m reading that a lens adapter is the way to go…wanting to know more now what i can do in the after math.

    Sorry wasn’t sure my specs were necessary for this.

    I have already done all that. Timeline still require i render it.

    ***note to all. I did take the time to read and learn about the multicam process before asking creative cow. NO WHERE am i seeing that the timeline in the multicam sequence needs renedering, except on my system.

    the only time my timeline does not require rendering is when i collaps the multiclips, but then i loose the ability to look at the different angles while editing.

    Yes i got that, but then it locks that clip in and i can no longer edit while seeing the various camera angles simultaneously. According to the manual, it seems this is the last step once you’ve completed your edits. So is there any way to edit using the multi clip playback without having the timeline requiring rendering. It does not appear so.
