I’m glad I’m not alone in my appreciation for Ed and his work, which has helped (and keeps helping) so many people!

? You just wrote that the dropdown lets you lower it from 10 to 4Mbps. I’m confused why you’re asking if there is a way to do it then.

I’m still using Vegas Pro 17 and am a long-time fan and user. While I can’t answer on exactly what’s going on, I can offer a few possibilities from experience, which could be causing an experience like this:
1. Windows Update — If Windows Update runs and has a “pending update” waiting, I’ve found things take MUCH longer.. this has bitten me more than once
2. Dead (but still active) Vegas process — After exiting Vegas, I often will find a Vegas process still running when I open Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc, Processes, More Details, Background processes). Very often things do not work properly for me (or reliably) while those straggling processes are still running. Ending those tasks makes for a more stable experience.
3. You’re saying it’s “exactly the same” but if it were “exactly” then why are you re-rendering? I’ve found Vegas performance can drop significantly lower if a track’s opacity (e.g. if you have an opacity envelope on a track) accidentally got bumped to, say, 99% instead of 100%
4. Are you on a laptop? I’ve had *several* laptops randomly throttle CPU usage down from full speed to an abysmally low speed.. I ultimately resolve by using “ThrottleStop” app and never have been able to just get them working properly. Opening Task Manger, looking at Perfomance tab, look at “Speed” and “Base Speed” as well as what your CPU is rated for (on the top). When rendering, is your CPU Speed at, near, or above your actual CPU’s capability? Or is it much lower and not moving at all?

That’s awesome you were able to put it together so quickly, no less make it available to others.. super-yay!
I was inquiring on the workings since John R. had posted elsewhere that Vegas scripting didn’t give access to the clipboard so I was wondering if it worked like the copy/paste command, and how you might have gotten access to the clipboard which I thought wasn’t doable. 😉

Lovely!!
So “Happy Otter Scripts” will take a single event, and copy/paste it at markers — an excellent thing that would be most helpful!
Not sure if this is 100% the same as “Paste at Markers”…. maybe?
Question — If you had multiple events selected across different tracks (lots of times titles are layered), OR had grouped events (also across different tracks), and chose “Paste at Markers”, would it paste them all and maintain their relative spacing and track placement? (this is what the traditional “paste” does on the timeline)

UGH.
So we need to ask MAGIX for an enhancement to support this, either via a method to access the clipboard, or by enhancing the Paste Repeat with something like this:

-
Hi!
I’m looking for the same.. repeat paste at markers. What’d you find?
Related, I believe both Vegasaur and Excaliber have a “strobe” effect like you were seeking! (Sadly I don’t see a repeat paste function in either)

I’m having identical problem with Vegas 17 latest build (and yes — all legit). It’s a project sent to me by a Vegas Movie Studio user — single track, with events from 5 clips all shot on the same camera. I can view fine, edit fine. As soon as I File->RenderAs, Vegas crashes! My problem is a bit different from others on this thread, since I can put that same media in a new project and all is OK.. something about the source project that’s an issue. But still.. ugh. I’ll get through it, just crashing is never fun.

I realize this is an old thread — are there new formats that have been added to this list since the original post?
LOVE smart render!

Crop-Texture–>Crop Cutout.. the top is set low around 60 early on and slowly increases through the event length.
I’d delete this post but maybe it’ll help someone else down the line..
