    Found one more solution. If your FCP system will not launch at all. Trash all preferences as explained above, and also the Final Cut Pro Thumbnail Data and Thumbnail Cache. This worked on our system v.6.0.5, without a full re-install.

    You’re right, I did NOT drag the clip into the well in the controls tab. I double clicked the clip in the timeline and applied from there. So, I need to take my clip from the timeline, export it as a quicktime, re-import it back in to FCP, drag the new clip to the well and apply the effect? I would drag the original clip into the well but I don’t need to slow the entire clip just a piece of it.

    That’s seems to fix it. haven’t had a chance to fully test, but upon initial install I am able to shift click keyframes with success.

    Trashed everthing. No change. Even with a new timeline.

    Thank you sir. I believe you are right. I was told y Boris guys at NAB to re-install Red with universal binary to overcome some of the FCP issues. However I will just stick with 4.0 in order not to lose the filters that I have. Thanks for your quick response.
