Open up your sequence and hit cmd-0 (that is a zero). That’ll give you everything you need to know. Otherwise it’s in the browser, for both the individual clips and the timelines, if you just scroll over to be able to see it.

I’ve seen it mentioned several times on Reduser that you should let the camera get up to operating temp before doing things such as backfocus adjustment, and then to double-check it if you switch into a radically different environment, e.g. from -20 degrees to inside of a warm building. That could be part of the cause of the problem.
Was any sharpening added in post? That could be all that you have to do to get it to the point that no one who doesn’t know would notice.

There’s a link to the manual here: https://panasonic.com/business/provideo/support/products/index.asp?id=2&sid=2&cm_sp=PBST%20Support-_-Top%20Nav-_-Production%20Monitors-Studio
And on page 13, there’s a menu configuration outline. It looks like Video Config > Color Temp > Var 1-3 will allow you to play with the color temp, high and low reds, greens, and blues.
I don’t have that particular monitor here to try it out with, but it appears to be the same as the BT-LH2600W that is sitting in front of me.

I’ve run into similar issues recently. I used a .psd to create a letterbox (also tried a .tif and using Andy’s Letterbox) and when not rendered, the video was letterboxed correctly, but when rendered, the letterbox is no longer visible and the video from track 1 fills the 4X3 area.
I’ve trashed preferences, trashed render files, saved the project as a new name, tried different ways of making the letterbox…. everything else on video tracks 2 and 3 shows up properly, but for some reason the letterbox hasn’t been working. And it’s only one one of the projects that I’m working on right now that I’ve run into this. I don’t think it’s an alpha channel issue, and it’s definitely not because of having “Play Base Layer Only” checked. I just have no idea what else it could be.
It has been a couple of years since a fresh install, which I’ve recommended a couple of times, but it hasn’t happened. It might be time for another push for a fresh install to start the new year off right.

From the sounds of what you’re doing, $35,000 should be on the low end of what you’re worth. Of course, what you’re worth and what you’ll get are two completely different numbers, and those numbers make the difference between you trying to get everything you can out of them in terms of experience and reel so you can move on vs. you loving the job and wanting to stay there. Best of luck to you, and if you’re good you should get the $35,000 with raises sooner rather than later or some of the benefits mentioned above (Which I just bookmarked a link to for very soon when I’m asking for a raise).
You did mention a number first, but if they haven’t said no, chances are good they’re hoping to talk you down but they’ll go for it if you stick to it.

I’ve often had luck with just restarting the computer. Off and on (not often, but more often than I would like) the mouse will quit scrolling down, but will still scroll up and side-to-side, and a quick restart will get it going again. Explain that one.

There are multiple reasons for dubbing back to XDCam. One is workflow – where I’m at, the producers, who log the footage, aren’t going to get near the editing stations to dig through the footage, for multiple reasons (including how busy the editors always are.) They use the the Sony PDZ1 Software to log the shots that they want off of XDCam discs, then give the editors an ALE to bring in and edit from.
Another is backups – we currently have just short of 1000 XDCam discs (and 10,000 betas) in our library. Never a problem with any of the discs failing, but we’ve had problems with our RAIDs crashing over and over. Hard drives aren’t a good long-term storage solution, they even tell you the MTF, or Mean Time to Failure. You have to expect a drive to be dead in 5 years if you’ve got valuable data on it.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any way other than 1 clip at a time to move them over to XDCam either. If there is a way, I would love to hear about it.

We’ve had 2 Iomegas die on us recently where I’m at. OWC has been rock solid though, I’ve never had an OWC drive die. Lacie seems to be loved by half the world, hated by half. But personally, if half of the people I talk to say no way, I’m going to stay away from it. I know I’ve seen at least a dozen dead Lacies over the last couple years from various people. At least no one mentioned Maxtor here, huh?
Drives are so cheap you can afford to get something decent. OWC and G-Tech seem to be getting the highest ratings that I’ve been hearing about lately.

It’s a little bit late now, I’ve had another crazy week and haven’t been able to check the COW as often as I would like, but it is very, very worth looking into Neat Video’s noise reduction tool over at neatvideo.com. It is amazing, has a free demo that you can try out, and is only $99. I found it this weekend while looking for ways to to de-noise quite a bit of footage for a documentary that I’m helping on (Oh, the joys of pro-bono work), and I was amazed by what it could do. For that cheap, it’s definitely worth checking into. The producer wasn’t happy with just using blur or even selectively blurring channels to try to de-noise the footage, but this did the trick in no time, and looks beautiful. I don’t very often endorse plugins or software because there are many ways to do a job if you’re willing to learn the right ways to do it, but this one just found a permanent place in my toolbox.

I use both yousendit and dropsend on a regular basis. Both work well as long as what you’re sending is under 250mb. Similar services are popping up left and right lately, but it is seriously worth it to look into a more secure solution than uploading you files to a random website that sends out a link.
