    Hey,

I find my panasonic 17″ monitor to look a little green in the blacks. I’ve tested it with multiple cameras. Other then taking it to service shop, does anyone have any advice or user settings i can use to make the monitor look the best it can.

    Thanks for your help.

Have you always noticed this? Or is this a new occurrence. Do you do normal calibration’s with color bars etc. before you shoot?

We have the same issue. Sometimes you think you have the greens right and the reds look hot. Yellows get funny too. Might just ebay the darn thing and get a consumer plasma. I swear, my cheapo Panasonic home Plasma looks better and locks in color better than that “pro” monitor.

Is there a secret menu somewhere on that darn thing?

It seems like its always been like this. Although it may be a little worse then it was. Not 100% sure. While looking around the menus to try to remedy it, I found a series of deeper menus which give me the option to adjust the color balance and then even deeper I can adjust the specific green-low, red-low, blue-low and the same for High. I found I could adjust them to get rid of the green, but Im worried I may be tweeking something that will cause other colors to read improperly. Do you or anyone else have any experience adjusting this?

Oh and I do color calibration with bars before I shoot. Using the blue for chroma and tint and non blue for Contrast and Brightness. But it still has green in the black/shadow areas. I think i’m onto something with these deeper menus.

How did you get to these “deeper” menus?

There’s a link to the manual here: https://panasonic.com/business/provideo/support/products/index.asp?id=2&sid=2&cm_sp=PBST%20Support-_-Top%20Nav-_-Production%20Monitors-Studio

And on page 13, there’s a menu configuration outline. It looks like Video Config > Color Temp > Var 1-3 will allow you to play with the color temp, high and low reds, greens, and blues.

I don’t have that particular monitor here to try it out with, but it appears to be the same as the BT-LH2600W that is sitting in front of me.
