Hi Ed & Steve,

Thanks for the quick response and always happy to hear from you Ed. I went out for a quick bite to eat because I was editing all day a trip I’ve videotaped from Croatia. I shut down Vegas until I return. I reopened Vegas 7e & to my surprise the icons from Excalibur now show and once again I’m a happy editor. See Ed & Steve, once I get a response from you experts, everything starts to work fine. Happy Halloween, Boooooooo!

Hi Charlie,

I know how you feel. My problem is with Sony Vegas Pro8. I had it on my computer, was able to open it and play around with the Pro Titler. I haven’t opened it in a month and when I tried to open it, it won’t open. I tried and tried, reinstalled it a number of times, dowmloaded it from the Sony site, called for help at the Sony Tech center and they gave up. I decided to not drive myself crazy and returned to Sony Vegas 7. Yes, it works with no problems. One of these days I’ll attempt to take on Vegas Pro 8, not until I finish my project.

I’ve done what you said and with no success.
Still get the Application Error for both Vegas 8a and DVD Architect: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)
This time I got the icon on my desktop when I checked the box. The previous times I didn’t. This is very strange, I reinstalled vegas7 and DVD architect 4 with no problem and can open both. I had Vegas8 Pro on my PC and have done some projects with it, played around with the Titler after viewing DSE training video. Now I can’t open it at all. What a bummer 🙁
If anyone else has any ideas out there, let us no before I wipe out my whole C hard drive and reload everything.
Thanks Steve for your time in responding. I’m going to try the Sony Tech service again next week and see if they have any other suggestions.

Unfortunately we’re both having the same problems. I’m using Windows XP Pro. You can’t open Vegas 7 and I can’t open Vegas8 Pro along with DVD Architect5. When I first received Vegas 8 I was able to open it and use it for a number of months until recently within the last few weeks. I had unistalled it and reinstalled it until I was blue in the face. I removed all my dowmloads from the computer, went back into the restore computer as far back as it let me, called Sony Tech support and went through a number of trial and error procedures until the tech was unable to help anymore. So I reinstalled Sony Vegas 7 and DVD Architect4 and to my surprise, it opened. So I can’t figure out why Vegas8 Pro won’t open. This is the message that pops up. (The Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). All my other programs on my desktop open just fine. I’m not giving up yet. There has to be a solution to this mystery. I really don’t want to do a clean sweep on my hard drive, but if I have to then I will.

I’m still trying to solve the problem. This is very strange. Even when I download Vegas Pro8 & DVD and have the place Icon on the desktop, nothing appears on the desktop, but the program installs. I even turn off the Trend Micro Virus Protection. I wkeep trying to figure this out and wait till Tuesday to call Sony.

Just to let you know that I have reinstalled Sony Vegas 7 & DVD Archirect4 with all updates and opened them with no problem. I reinstalled Vegas Pro 8 and still can’t open it. The problem still exist with a code 0xc0150002. The same applies to DVD Achitect.

I tried what you recommend by downloading .net framework, but that didn’t work. I’ll try calling Sony and see what they suggest.

Hi Allen,

Speaking of Gary, he has fallen off the face of the earth. I hope he’s ok. I have his training DVD’s along with Spots Training DVD’s from VASST. They’re both great and each person has their own way in teaching.
