Cannot open Sony Vegas Pro8 & DVD Architect
Hello Vegas Pros,
This is the first time this happened to me since Vegas4. I”m using XP Pro and cannot open Sony Vegas Pro8 or DVD Architect. I have uninstalled both and reinstalled them and coming up with the same message “The application failed to initialize properly (Oxc0150002)”
Does anyone know what this code means? All my other programs open up just find. My computer must be having a senior moment 🙁Thanks for any suggestions before I call Sony,

did you install anything recently related to .net framework?
Did you try reinstall .net?Regards

I tried what you recommend by downloading .net framework, but that didn’t work. I’ll try calling Sony and see what they suggest.

Just to let you know that I have reinstalled Sony Vegas 7 & DVD Archirect4 with all updates and opened them with no problem. I reinstalled Vegas Pro 8 and still can’t open it. The problem still exist with a code 0xc0150002. The same applies to DVD Achitect.

I just asked if there’s something with .net, because I have a dim remember that I had a very similar error message, and finally reinstalling .net solved it.
So I can recommend you to remove .net and see what happens, and then reinstall .net.
If autoupdate is enabled on your computer, may be you got a new security update from MS, which may cause the problem…
I’m just guessing, I may wrong…

I’m still trying to solve the problem. This is very strange. Even when I download Vegas Pro8 & DVD and have the place Icon on the desktop, nothing appears on the desktop, but the program installs. I even turn off the Trend Micro Virus Protection. I wkeep trying to figure this out and wait till Tuesday to call Sony.

And did you try a system restore to a time (let’s say a week ago?), when V8 was still working?
