Hi Mike,
( I always use the bitrate calculator I’ve mentioned here several times and render MPEG-2 and AC-3 streams out of Vegas and then give these to DVDA for authoring. For your project, use a CBR setting of 8,000,000 for the 1 hr. DVD and a VBR setting of 7,904,000 / 6,320,000 / 3,972,000 for the 1.5 hr. DVD.)
Mike, I was always under the assumption that when you render out a project as Mpeg2, your compressing everthing. Then when you bring your compressed Mpeg2 into DVDA, it’s rendered again and recompressed once more losing the picture quality.
In Vegas Pro8 I’ve been rendering out as an AVI for video and PCM for audio which is uncompressed and then bringing it into DVDA to get compressed as a Mpeg2 and AC3. Am I in left field on this or what? Pleae let me know.
Ralph
