hi DAvid,
“Are you saying that the entire feature was shot on 35mm, including the promo, to which you must now add motion graphics in AE?”
ya…thats what it is. We are working on PAL 25fps.
They have edited/ offline on the Avid.
Because of the budget constraints, they want to do the compositing on AFX and the final online on Smoke.
Now, I have received a QT file, 720/576 of the Avid edit.
But I think that I need a 2k file sequence, so I can open a similar project in AFX ???
Thats where Im getting confused… What kind of file sequence do I need from the AVID, to work on 2k in AFX ..and give the output to the Smoke guys ???
Thnaks

September 26, 2007 at 5:00 pm in reply to: what is the difference between 32bpc and 8 bit or a 10bit colorspace ?hey,
Thanks a lot both Steve and Todd, for clearing up my doubts. But …lets say..Im editing a video on Premiere Pro 2, I cut paste the sequence in a comp and do my effects stuff and color correction in 16bpc..I then render out an uncompressed AVI file…I still have to render it on the time line in Premiere to give a tape out ???…so I have a loss in quality then ? Is this loss perceptible…?
And in future shall we have 16bpc mode in the NLE’s ?

Thanks for all your replies…
Since I dont own the plug in, I have to try it the Aarohns way, it looks really simple…
What i want to do is…instead of the sreaks of liht shooting out in a diverging manner from the headlight…have only the white glow of the headlight, and 1 thin blue horiontal ray of light…formed from the ligt source..a bit stylized..im sure we see it applied a lot n photoshop and else where,..

May 24, 2007 at 11:19 am in reply to: Adobe admits PPro 2.0 HDV export to tape flaw. no solutionWell, working with HDV natively in Premiere should probably be the first issue. Most of us don’t, because it is very, very slow… and that’s the actual first flaw
vincent,
I have a Athlon64 3000, with 2 gig RAM. Using Cineform Aspect HD I captured HDV clips. The source HDV clips play fine in media player, but when Im trying to play it in the PPro2 tileline, its stuttering playback…
Please suggest…

harm,
I was wondering if there is anyway to work efficiently without losing any of my current data ?
Also, its possible to combine 2 SATA hard disks to make RAID 0…for faster data transfer ?

ok…if iits about the hard disk space, then why wasnt stuttering happening about a month back. when I was still editing ??
why is it happening now?? and how much free hard disk space should i keep for a smooth plyaback,, if thats the problem ??
this things dont happen in avid..only in premiere …

thanks steve…
Im checking up on Newegg, but the prices of the core2 Duo 6600 conroe and the Xeon 3050 conroe is nearly the same…
Would you know the diffrence, bwtween the server processor and the desktop, when prices are nearly the same…
Also I am buying 2 gig Kingston RAm and a graphics card…pcie for around $150…hope that would be enough for DVC Pro HD also ?
Thanks

steve,
i used aspect HD, still the plyback was jerky and stuttering. I have decideid to go buy a new system. Please suggest , should I go for an Athlon64 FX or Athlon64 X2 ? or Intel…but I prefer Athlons, they are cheaper and better performers.
