    From EVGA themselves:

    Question (8/14/2007 10:07:41 AM): I feel like I’ve received a canned
response… So let me try again. During video capture, and ONLY during
capture… (during playback the video is fine, during encoding video is
fine), and only in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and higher (in Windows Movie
Maker Video captures fine) During video capture in Premiere Pro 2.0
artifacts appear. I’ve tried updating drivers. This is not a hardware
problem. And I am not the only person who has it.

needs to be one. Perhaps get in contact with someone at Adobe and see
what you can come up with. But there does seem to be a problem between
G80 video cards and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. (And CS3 apparently) in
    Windows XP.

Answered By Gabriel P (8/15/2007 4:53:28 PM): Hello David, sorry for the
issues before. I too have had experience with these weird artifacts
occurring, they seem more of like film grain and weird pixels appearing.
I do also use adobe premier pro and 8800GTS 320mb, but this problem
seems to only occurs when you have hardware accelerated rendering
enabled, the driver update as well as reinstalling the chipset drivers
seem to fix this issue. From what i can tell thought if it persists it
may be a needed patch perhaps from Adobe, but i will look into this
myself, please email me at xxxx@evga.com if after reinstalling the
drivers does not work so i can help you out further.

    Umm… No.

I’m guessing you’ve never heard of Vista? The ONLY place where DX10 actually exists. (Besides, in limited form, on the xbox 360.)

Therefore it can’t be a DX10 issue because I’m not running the operating system that supports DX10. (I’m using XP Pro… I believe I’ve already mentioned that.)

@Blast1: Yes. I know Premiere uses directX… but it uses DirectX9 when you’re in XP… regardless of what video card you’re using

I have the latest driver (162.18 or whatever.) Ran driver cleaner to get rid of all the old drivers. Still doesn’t work.

DirectX 10 is only an API. It’s software… and it does not exist in Windows XP. So whether a video card is DX10 or DX9 compatible or not is irrelevent: In Windows XP it would only use DX9.

Just tried updating my drivers. (Ran drivercleaner, got rid of ALL the NVIDIA drivers, installed new drivers.) No such luck. I’m 100,000 percent sure this is a Premiere issue (since it captures fine in Movie Maker and every other capture program) and not a video card issue.

Yeah I don’t think that’s going to work. The earlier G80 drivers are notoriously unstable. 🙂

@ Averdahl – Which drivers and which operating system are you currently using?

I’m using Forceware 158.27 beta in XP. I believe the latest official drivers are 158.22.

And, yes, the problem is only during capture. I suspected it had to be a G80 issue since I never had the problem with all my other video cards.

Wow… Thanks. That about covers it I guess.

Except is there an option to always playback audio during regular playback?
