Hi Mark,
thunderboldt is a wonderful multi usable port. If you want to do back up then use Raid 1. With raid 0 and partition you haven’t got any back up. If one drive fails your back up has gone as well. I call this harakiri. We haven’t got one drive system on raid 0. This was 10 years ago, when we worked on raid 0 drive arrays. In terms of speed you will probably get around 100 MB/s. The speed your hard drive does (on raid 1). What you need is Raid 5 or 6 to get more out of the thunderbolt. Perhaps esata may be a choice for you.(Gspeed Q) Data rate is about 200 MB/s. It depends how full your drive is. You should look into Promise pegasus R4 or Sonnet fusion thunderbolt. They run on Raid 5 with good speed (around 300 MB/s). I would not recommend backup on the raid. I would go for back up on a seperate Harddisc USB3 or FW800.
Hard discs with eco drive are not good for usage in raids. Best hard discs (we use them with best results) to me are Ultrastars. Barracudas (enterprise) are good as well.cheers

If the chromakey is proper lit, you will have no problems in FCP7.

This happens sonetimes with P2. Internally p2 records one clip 4GB. These single clips are shown as one larger clip in the HVX200 and in FCP7. Sometimes it happens, that the one clip is shown as several 4GB clips. You can either put the clips together in the timeline, or you can choose “reconnect” in the HVX200. But you must be able to have the original P2 card in the panasonic camera to perform this option.

reboot, trash FCP caches, start FCP. If you have digital rebellion, this program does it for you.

and I don’t think you get more than 500 MB/s speed out of an SSD array. But you can try. Interesting. Tell us, how it works.Rainer

First of all:
G-Raid raid level5
get the best hd’s available (Hitachi Ultrastars to me)
test it on your working environment.
Take one spare disc with you! (for the G-Raid)
The second back up you can do on a normal USB Harddisc. If you have huge data go with your normal Harddisc over FW (need a FW Port)Good luck

this is not really helpful, but one of your discs might have had a failiure and with raid 0 it means your data is lost. The only try in case the hardware has a fault is to stick your drives in another case (G-tech Speed). Working on Raid 0 is a terrible risk. Did you double backup?

What happened to the 4 Harddiscs in the G speed? Did one of them go Red?
If all 4 Harddiscs are in a proper working condition, and your partition is gone, its a Mac OSX problem. Then try first aid. If this doesn’t work, try techtool pro. It’s one of the best hardware tools on the market.Rainer

both are professional solutions. It’s the price that counts, and with sonnet you can choose your own drives. I don’t know whether you have to buy small tree drives (If so then this is expensive).
