Nothing wrong.
First to say, is that I see your raw picture (lower) and I don’t think that needs any further White balance.
The Auto-WB works by choosing an object in the frame that is pure white, but that simply doesn’t exist in nature. You get that only with a professional color chart. The Auto-WB may be good starting point some times but you have to be careful. If you chose an object that has a, lets say, certain red cast because the natural light has lot of red, you will pour on it a lot of blue to counterbalance the red and you will screw the picture.
In the other hand, when you push or low colors to get whatever look, you can’t expect the RGB parade keep balanced. Any change in any channel will show up on the parade.
So use the scope to help you to detect what’s on the picture and avoid unnatural casts, but other than keeping your values Broadcast Safe, don’t let him to impose you any rule to get the look you want.
Just an advice, get used to desaturate the very low lights and very high lights, because in real life or eyes can’t tell the color on very shining and very dark areas.

[Sonya Di Rienzo] ” the apple store folks told me mountain lion is incompatible with FCP7 so I must use FCPX”
That’s absolutely untrue.

Hi Deep,
Going to 24fps makes sense only if you are printing to 16/35mm film.
If you are not printing to film, stick with 23,98fps.
Conforming footage affects to the speed that audio is played, so the clips and the audio files will have a different play speed and even if you sync them with Pluraleyes, the audio will drift.About your Audio out of sync problem:
FC has an old bug.
When you import audio files (aiff, wav), FC treat those audio files as they had the same time-base of your default sequence.
So if you are in PAL land and your default sequence (Sequence Presets) is 25fps, FC will take that audio as if was recorded with a 25fps Time Code, even when the audio has no Time Code.
So when you open a new sequence with a different time-base (23,98, 24, 30..). the audio will go out of sync. The solution is to, before importing the audio, set a default sequence with the same time base that you intend to edit the audio.

There are many effects that are rendered by the GPU instead of the CPU.
The new monitor is fed by the GPU too, and is using some of his resources.
With the new monitor your GPU is overload.
In short, you need a better GPU to cope with all the work.

December 1, 2012 at 3:58 pm in reply to: Trashed Preferences / whole project corrupted??I don’t gonna insist in that H264 is not supported by FC.
With 10 years experience you should know it.
Any glitch you get on editing probably is due to that format.[De'elzebub Beastich] “After trashing preferences, I re-open FCP, reset preferences/settings, re-open project, render, then export. It takes 2 minutes, not 10 seconds to export –> I know I’m not getting a 70MB file straight away. (note: I did NOTHING to the project file during any of this, except re-render once in a while) Export finishes: 1.5GB file. “Exqueeze me?” I gasp. I play it: 5% of it is jarbled dogshit. Not 100% or 90%, but 5%: plenty enough to make it worthless pooh. Try again: same. Google threads: phase 2: uninstall & reinstall FCP. I comply. NO CHANGE!!!
Try to re-play previously exported 70MB MOV files or even import them into FCP: “The movie file “Sequence 2-FIN-00000003″ cannot be found, etf***ingcetera”. My understanding is the “FIN” part refers to render files, so let me repeat: even when I re-play them in an EXTERNAL video player I see this. Does this…CAN this….have ANYTHING to do with a render file?”
You are messing things exporting Reference movies.
If you don’t want to restart your edit with the footage converted to Prores (as Neil wisely suggest), try changing your sequence codec for that and export a Self-contained movie. The file will be much bigger, but then you will be able to transcode it to whatever you want.

[Aindreas Gallagher] “I made this point a while ago, but I wonder at Apple’s pricing here, and whether the new 299 figure represents a realisation that they can take an amazon style approach to the market. In that they are engaged in market decimation through pricing, simply because they can. “
Well, yes, the application is cheap, but when you realize that you need a new system (computer, HDs, monitoring) to make it work and the price and time for “wrapping your mind around the new paradigma, you realize that the 700 bucks you save in the application are peanuts.

December 1, 2012 at 10:58 am in reply to: MyY FINAL CUT VIDEO ITS TAKING TOO LONG TO EXPORT! 40 HOURS??!![Jose Rico] “Everything is on my External HD and its using an usb port connection.”
Your first problem is your HD.
USB is not good even for editing DV; much less for Prores.
Even with the faster computer, that will slow down your render.
You need at least FW800.

November 30, 2012 at 7:05 pm in reply to: FCP7 Export Render Farm – XML, EDL, Something better?Hi Frazer,
XML and EDLs are based on what you have on your sequence, but they do not take in consideration any render file.
Your method of using a Reference Movie (No Self contained), should work fine as long as the Rhozet Carbon Coder app has access to the renders.

Hi Keith,
Even if was not for the XDCAM codec, it was very convenient for you to update that FC.6.1.
Believe me, it was probably one of the most buggy FCs versions ever released.
Cheers,

Next time you get the warning, uncheck “Warn next time on dropped frames”.
Probably you won’t notice when frames are dropped.
