The SD that that camera shoots is not standard , so f you have recorded SD, I think that you have to set the camera to put out standard DV through the FW.
Then chose the NTSC-DV 48Khz capture preset if you have shoot 4/3 or the NTSC-DV Anamorphic 48Khz if you have shot 16×9.
Is the camera the one that must downconvert the 1440×1080 or 1080×1080 to DV.

Not really.
Both are different applications and both should be installed.
Try to install it with FC opened.

Hi George,
FAT-32 is a mac/Pc compatible format.
It shouldn’t be problem recording on that. SDHC and Compact Flash cameras are formated this way.
The problem might be because the the stream data rate could be to high for the USB connexion, I guess, he was using.
Not sure if that could be the issue, but if would need to record a live stream with a Mac I would try to do it on a Mac formatted computer and with a connexion more reliable than USB2.

Hi Lynette,
The are many codecs that QT can not play, but when it play them normally play the stuff as it is.
I would have a look with VCL to see if QT is doing something wrong, or the files are that crappy.

I’ve been working many times with one channel control on manual and the other with the Automatic Gain Control.

It may be a problem with the disc or may be a problem with your Mac driver.
Try to copy the disc on other Mac.

Most people use only one external mic for interviews (channel 1) and records the on camera mic of in channel 2 for security.
So what you are getting is nothing strange.
You need just one voice track, so use the one that sounds better.

If you intend to just cut can be Ok.
Whatever thing you need to render, beside risking every kind of glitches -as Mark says- the stuff will be recompressed with the subsequent lose in quality.
Converting the H264, will make FC works easier, but you won’t avoid the quality lost on the H264 compression.
If you want to keep quality , you should use the H264 just as a guide to help you editing faster the original footage.

Neil is right.
When talking about 100% or 75%, we refers to the White bar only (100% vs 75% Luma).
The Color Bars CAN NEVER BEEN 100% because the Green, Cyan and Yellow bars would be fully illegal.
As Neil say, the EBU are 100% Luma (for the white ), and 75% saturation or the colored bars.
