    Hi alireza,

As per your details, you have an HD files which you want on a dvd. And, you have first exported this file to Quick Time output. Now, if you want it on a dvd, you can use your HD source file itself. Import it into Premiere, drag it to timeline, select “File>Export>Adobe Media Encoder”. When the AME UI comes up, select MPEG2DVD as format and select the settings which you want to use to export.

The DVD supports only SD sizes, so you will have to scale down the frame size of your video.

Also, the duration of your source file is important because the DVD has got its limitation storage-wise. you should take a look at estimated file size before you export.

now, you can import the AME output into Encore and burn it onto a DVD.

If you still face any problem, do let me know.

    thanks,
    Prateek

  • hi joseph,

the settings you have used for exporting looks fine. however, what was the project setting which you had taken ? For the work flow that you are trying, you need to take a NTSC STD project. you can also try one more thing to narrow down the problem. try playing back the AME output and see if this output has got those black-borders. If no, then this could be a bug in the application you are using for burning the DVD.

    thanks,

    Hi JOE,

If you have used the presets and settings which you have mentioned above, you would get separate audio and video files i.e.; .m2v file for video and .ac3 file for audio. For MPEG2DVD, the multiplexing is off by default for all the presets. if you play back the video only file, audio won’t be there becuase audio is in another file. If you want audio and video in a single file, you will have to turn the multiplexing on under “Multiplexer” Tab or you can use MPEG2 format instead of MPEG2DVD.

    thanks,
    Prateek
