thats what I thought too… but the raw footage before I bring it into the timeline is 24fps and still it is jerky and actually looks interlaced which seems odd to me since it is a capture from 16mm. I didn’t do the capture from the digibeta to vid myself so is there a chance something could have been done wrong in that capture?

so even though the editing timebase is 23.98 on the print to tape output it automatically outputs at 29.97?

Thanks for the advice, I don’t really have the money or the time for a colorist but hopefully someday… I used the broadcast colors filter in FCP and put 30 sec. of FCP generated Colorbars and 30 Seconds of black which they (the festival projectionists) so I guess thats about all I can do from home correct?

I believe the 24p camera is progressive scan footage…
