It is all p2 footage, I guess my question was about the cadence and I guess you answer my inquiry by saying the cadence is lost.

There doesn’t seem to be a 59.94 setting, any thoughts?

Is there a setting that allows the least amount of compression as possible?

DIdn’t mean to offend to anyone, HDV is a disaster as far as I am concerned. I love panasonic, i guess I can deal with the crappy blue channel.

Everytime we try to insert with the D5 we have all kinds of issues. It seems to only insert for half of the time specified.

The important thing with Final Touch is to make the sequence so it has absoloutly not a single attribute on any clip at all. Any filter, basic motion, speed change, anything has to be “baked” into quicktimes in order to work. After i make a sequence before exporting an XML I always select all and say remove attirbutes to check to see if there are any in the sequence at all. After that when you render, make sure you unclick render for XML export. Then render your media, then click it back on and export your xml. Since I have been doing it this way I haven’t encountered a single XML issue.

We’ve figured it out just by blacking the tape with DF timecode then outputting it. What would be great is if we could figure out how to insert edit on our d5. You’d think for 70,000 you’d be able to do something like that. Any suggestions?

We blacked the tape DF and are using a NDF timeline. Now we see that it is laying to the tape off by a couple frames. Ugh, WHY???

    Thanks agian…
