I find the image more subtle than an EX1/1R/3, which look more vidoeoish to me. ”
I like hearing that. I’ll have to test a 250 out.
Thanks.

what about a basic feature of white balance? Does the 250 give you a actual color temp or like the 200A after white balancing does the camera say white balance ok? does DRS work in the other modes (59.94) and going back to white balance can you dial in a color temp similar to a 2700 or HDX-900?Thanks.

Steve,
sorry to bust this thread but I have a question for you about the HPG-20, seems like you have one or have used one.
I’m looking into buying one for playback from P2 Cards straight to a EVS system via HDSDI.
Any experience doing this? or what applications have you used the HPG-20 for?
Any pro’s, con’s or look out for this you can tell me about? Thanks.

I’m going to use Compressor for Proxy files with burned in TC as I already own it and after a quick test compressor does the job for me. Could not get the Demo from Proxy Mill (Imagine Products) to work properly (Time code from Proxies did not match master clip) might be me not getting the proper setting in Proxy Mill. Anyone out there have any success with Proxy Mill?
Now, will Panasonic come out with a firmware or software upgrade where the proxies TC from the Panasonic Proxy card match the main/master clip.

Thanks again for the good info and the tips. This gives me something to think about, I’ll probably stick with compressor for proxy files for now. hopefully Imagine products (makers of proxy mill) will be able to work out the bugs and maybe Panasonic will be able to create TC matching proxies with their proxy card then I will take a look at these products again.
Thanks.PHIL

Well, I think the 3000 and the entire line of Professional Panasonic cameras are fantastic primarily due to the recording CODEC.
I have been testing the demo of Proxy Mill, do you find that the burned in time code of the proxy does not match the master clip perfectly?

Matthew, thanks for the info. that is a very important info for me. seems like the time code would match, almost defeats the purpose of the proxies if the TC doesn’t match the master clips.
thanks!

Why did you choose the 3100 over say a 2700 or 3700, 3000…of course the price is a factor, what else?
Thanks.PHIL
