So I suppose my workstation is powerful enough for such massing
I must find another reason for my display issue
but I haven’t found any testimony for a similar problem (text in black in the event browser)… -
I’ve launched that treatment again after having exported the footage onto a master file (prores 4.2.2).
Now the 2 passes of compression take only 11 minutes.
Then the compression with Compressor by exporting directly from FCP was literally stuck. Beyond the rushes there are 4K and HD stuff that is edited together on a 1080×1920 time line (multicam clips). Is it the reason ?

Hi,
I am exporting a 45 minutes footage (1080×1920 25p) from FCP to DVD through Compressor.
The settings were defined by compressor. I have just changed them for “2 passes (optimal) ” because I need a top quality. The progress meter comes to about 1/3 scale of the FIRST PASS after 6 HOURS and 36 minutes of work !! (the timer and and the raid array lights are still “alive”…)
Where is the error ?
Compressor 4.3.2
FCP 10.3.4
Mac OS 10.12.5
Mac Pro Late 2013 2.7 GHz 12 cores RAM 32 Go SSD
Raid Promise Pegasus 2R6Thank you for your opinion.

April 18, 2017 at 4:29 pm in reply to: FCP X A/V output : sdi monitor and hdmi output of the macproEventualy I found the point
My HDMI DVI cable was good but I read somewhere we have to setup the good frequence and format of the external monitor from the computer preferencies (here 1080 25p)
That I did and the monitor became identified as A/V device by FCP X
and now that works
thank you for your help

March 31, 2017 at 12:09 pm in reply to: FCP X A/V output : sdi monitor and hdmi output of the macproThank you Helgi. I have non converter just an adapter HDMI/DVI (one of the standards of my video monitor)
The preferencies display for A/V output : no device found
The point is : will a HDMI SDI converter be considered like an A/V device ? -
So what was the solution of this problem ? I have the same one.
Thank you -
Thank you Joseph but I’ve just found the reason.
I launched the module crash analyses from FCS maintenance pack I decided to buy (a very good idea).
So the analyses said it was because of the FLV component in the library/ QT folder.
Then I removed this component and now all is ok. Halleluyah !

Rafael I’ve used diskwarrior (directory rebuild and permissions repaired on the working disk)
and the issue remains the same. I don’t understand why the problem exists specificaly only for the export via conversion

November 9, 2008 at 3:00 pm in reply to: kona3 doesn’t work anymore after driver updateThank you Jeremy.
In fact I deleted the settings of FCP in user library and the Aja settings in system librairy. By now it was sufficient for running the playback again. But you’re right I tested the slots and the kona is not at the right place (4 and not 3 as recommended by aja for the pre2008 Macpro like mine). I will take advantage of the next update from tiger to leopard for exchanging the places between the ATTO board and the kona board. -

November 8, 2008 at 3:56 pm in reply to: kona3 doesn’t work anymore after driver updateother details about this problem.
I’ve updated the firmware again and shut the mac off. Then rebooted it. Now fcp playbacks for about five seconds and freezes and mac OS 10 freezses also.
I hadn’t no problem with the old Kona driver.
I I’ve just noticed the kona board is on the slot 4 not the slot 3 as recommanded by aja. Is this the solution?mac os 10.4.11
mac pro dual-core
ati radeon X1900XT x16 slot 1 – speed ok
slot 2 empty
slot 3 x4 ATTO express SASR380 (for raid – Sonnet) – speed lower
slot 4 x4 Kona3 (mentionned as intel board bridge PCI-PCI) – speed lower (strange aja says x4 is enough…)
