  • There is no DNxHD220 option in Avid MC 6.5.2… only DNxHD co-deck.Same thing?
We shoot so many 1080p, 29.97 formats. Will Avid 1:1x work uncompressed for HD footage 1080p?

Would have been much simpler to just keep the NONE setting !!!

Yes, I agree… thats what avid told me. However, everytime I tried to download the QT 7.4.5 onto my tiger OS (10.4.11) with Avid MC 3.0.1.
i would get warnings, “A later version of Quicktime exists on your HD” and then the puzzling one. “Quicktime 7.4.5 cannot be downloaded to your disk volume. QT 7.4.5 requires OS system 10.5(leopard)

This is very confusing. Thought we trashed everything to do with Quicktime in order to download the QT 7.4.5
Any ideas of the most sure-fire way to make sure Quicktime is completely off of our system in order to start with a new QT version from scratch?

Like I said Avid techs were also confused that the warning we received stated that we needed to load OS 10.5 for QT 7.4.5. We do not want to deal with OS 10.5.

    Thanks for the help.

Yes on the color in the monitor and then Mojo output B & W.
I am going from the Avid S-video into an external DVD burner… and getting B&W.
Composite will not give me the S-Video out which I prefer. Thanks.

    Thanks Mike.
Always keeping it nice here… and keeping it real. Very frustrating for many of us.
    cheers

Jon lets get serious… for all the time & money we have invested in our avids, let alone the assurance program of unrealistic hold times with Avid tech support… you suggest that we chill??? 15 minutes? We have never been so lucky. Obviously, you either work for Avid, never have a single client supervised edit, work out of your Uncles Tito’s basement, or have never experienced the term, “deadline.”

Avid has always had the worst upgrade policy, period.
This is one more reason for us to consider staying with the cheaper Xpress Pro HD, than shelling out 5K for MC Soft.
Just love to find someone who knows both systems and get the real skinny on it.

    Thanks,
    Phil
