Rob,
Thanks for the post. We are pretty much doing the same thing as you, only we are using After Effects for the down conversion to 720 x 480 widescreen format, 29.97 progressive. Then we import those QT movies into Encore. The down-converted QuickTimes are pristine so the problem is being introduced by Encore in some way. Before I try another external encoder (like Cinemacraft) I would like to see if we can just make some kind of adjustment in Encore that I don’t know about.
[I’ll tell Brooks you said hi.]
Thanks again but we still need to figure this out…

Michael, thanks for replying.
I am not sure I understand your post, so maybe I should back up.
I am having difficulty with aliasing on DVDs authored with Encore. I was hoping that if I used a different transcoder, and imported those movies into Encore for authoring maybe that problem would be solved. (Since Bitvice is not a DVD authoring application, I presumed that I had to go back to Encore.)
Thanks,

How does Bitvice compare to the encoder built into Encore? Is it possible to use Bitvice encoded movies in Encore?
Thanks,

A little more info, the drives are not Fat 32, they’re HFS+. Also, we’ve tried both across the network and local, same results.
Thanks,

Thanks Dave, we are in discussion with Adobe now and one of their engineers has our files. We’ll see how it goes.

Hmm… maybe I was too all-inclusive. Up ’til now, as a stock footage company, we have provided Quicktime flies compressed with PhotoJPEG. It has been accepted by virtually all our customers without problem. Unfortunately, we are having quality issues the latest version of CS5’s PhotoJPEG output. We need an alternative. Other than Apple Pro Res, I don’t have any other options that come close to quality, file size and convenience.
Thanks,

Unfortunately the Ejector cases won’t work because I need the standard black plastic case that takes a paper insert.
